I have a 10.5 R11 with the standard stiff shaft and I was looking at re-shafting my driver. I hit it very high and have it dialed all the way down to 9.5 after doing some research from what I can gather is the factory shaft is a high launch shaft. I was wondering if just by re-shafting Id be able to change the ball flight of my driver. If so it would be nice if someone explained to me how to go about picking a new shaft. Thanks Jake

I have found that stock TM shafts (Martix Ozik) are designed to get the ball up in the air for maximum distance which continues to be a successful TM marketing point. For some this may be good, for others not so much.
I have tried TM clubs (irons, drivers...etc) and found that the stock shafts/loft setting were not the best for me. I would hit the ball very high but without much distance or control. I found that I sprayed shots and had a hard time keeping the ball in play. I also realized that upgrading shafts with TM is can be a very expensive option.
A lot of posts will follow advising you to get properly fitted and I agree, however, when you do go for a fitting explain to the fitter that you have a very high ball flight and that you want to bring the ball flight down and hopefully tighten your dispersion. Even though you are a 14 HC do not let that deter you from experimenting with different shafts.
I was surprised to learn that the best fit for me in both diver and irons was Project X non-flighted shafts. These shafts have resulted in a lower trajectory with increased distance and control for me.
Good luck and have fun!
