The top four in my Power Rankings. Back injury notwithstanding, I’ve saved my last two starts for Woods for this week and the finale.
Mike
McAllister
Jason Day, Zach Johnson
Steve Stricker, Tiger Woods
Jason Day Day63.jpg
Expect Day to start strong Friday -- his first-round scoring average at TPC Boston in his last four starts is 66.5. I think he's playing well enough to carry that momentum the rest of the week.
Chris
Dunham
Jason Dufner, Jim Furyk
Brandt Snedeker, Tiger Woods
Brandt
Snedeker
Snedeker63.jpg
As of my selecting of this lineup, no one had picked Snedeker as one of their four and that's just fine with me. His recent form has been down and there are health concerns but the reigning #FedExCup champion loves this track and I expect him to return to form after nearly a full week away from competitive golf.
Ryan
Smithson
Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott
Webb Simpson, Tiger Woods

The 2006 Deutsche Bank champion will be motivated after finishing just one stroke behind Barclays winner Adam Scott last week.
John
Schwarb
Keegan Bradley, Jim Furyk
Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott
Keegan
Bradley

Can't see him going winless this season, so put me down for a crowd-pleasing victory at TPC Boston. Bradley faded over the weekend at The Barclays but a course-record (for one day) 63 on Friday shows he's in good form overall.
Helen
Ross
Zach Johnson, Phil Mickelson
Adam Scott, Steve Stricker
Zach
Johnson
ZJohnson63.jpg
With top-10s in his last five starts, Johnson is a victory waiting to happen. He's rested after serving as best man at his brother's wedding and has lots to play for with the FedExCup and Presidents Cup on his mind.
Bill
Cooney
Rory McIlroy, Phil Mickelson
Tiger Woods, Adam Scott

It's his time to shine.
Anne
Detlefsen
Tiger Woods, Adam Scott
Rickie Fowler, Keegan Bradley
Adam Scott Scott63.jpg
The Masters champ is playing well enough to win a second Playoffs event. Why not go back-to-back and win in Boston?
Bryan
Mullen
Jason Day, Rory McIlroy
Adam Scott, Steve Stricker
Rory

The defending champ appears to be working out of his funk and will feel comfortable this week. He finished T19 last week at The Barclays, which included a 65 on Friday. In his previous event, he finished T8 at the PGA Championship.
John
Swantek
Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy
Adam Scott, Tiger Woods
Rory
McIlroy

His game has shown signs of life the last two starts and he can salvage what has been a lost season with a strong run in the Playoffs. The defending champ capitalizes on the chance.
Brian
Wacker
Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson
Rickie Fowler, Rory McIlroy
Phil Mickelson Mickelson63.jpg
Not only does Mickelson arrive off a final-round 65 last week, he won here in 2007 and has finished in the top 10 at TPC Boston each of the last two years. A win here will add his name to the Player of the Year mix.
Sean
Martin
Jason Day, Phil Mickelson
Adam Scott, Webb Simpson

The winner of last week's The Barclays has finished no worse than eighth in his past three appearances at TPC Boston. He has to be the favorite.
Amanda
Balionis
Rickie Fowler, Zach Johnson
Tiger Woods, Graham DeLaet

Coming off a final round 65 at the Barclays, and a week which included 2 rounds where he didn't miss a fairway, the Canadian is playing consistent golf and his confidence is high. Oh, and how can you bet against the playoff beard?

Tiger Woods, Adam Scott, Phil Mickelson

Justin Rose, Matt Kuchar, Brandt Snedeker

Now that's a couple solid groups.

I'm excited for some more playoff drama!

I hope Stenson takes it. Dude is a class act. I watched him and Colsaerts play KJ and Charlie Wi yesterday at the NB3 Foundation event. Tiger pulled out of the event due to injury, and Gary Woodland played in his absence.

Interestingly enough, Tiger played in the pro-am today in Boston.

Can someone tell Phil he has 3 more days of play left? Save some birdies for the other days, man.

I wrote this bit about the front nine a TPC Boston about a year ago: http://thesandtrap.com/b/profiles/nine_holes_with_the_front_nine_at_tpc_boston

It's a pretty cool course. Definitely a lot of birdie chances.

He blew it! Bogeyed 1. Now he has to birdie 6 of the last 8 holes to shoot 59.

Of course, as you know, Phil started on the back nine. And promptly bogeyed #1 (with Tiger). Then eagled #2.

I know. That's why I didn't say something like, "Read me describe all those holes Phil just birdied." I checked first. a2_wink.gif

Dang I can't get the stream to work.

You people are crazy. WTF Phil is imploding by not shooting  a 59? Hope that stupid joking around.

That was an impressive 63. I think he wins this weekend.

Think about it. He SHOULD have won the US Open. So really he should have TWO majors this year. And now....maybe the FedEx Cup too!

Player of the year, hands down Phily Mick baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
