First a bit of background: I took up golf a few months ago when my wife and I moved to a house located on a course. I have been taking lessons and trying to get more consistent with my swing (easier said than done, as all of you already know). At the same time I have been really focusing on core exercises for overall health, but also to get some more power behind my golf swing.
At any rate, I live on a par 5 and yesterday evening after the last group played through my neighbor and I went to play the hole. He was using his driver and hit it about 250 and was on the left side of the fairway. I teed up my three wood and made a nice solid swing and just absolutely centered it on the club face. The ball arched perfectly with just a slight slight draw and ended up just left of center on the fairway. It went so far I got my GPS and measured the shot: 269 yards total and probably carried around 235-240 yards . I don't think my best driver hit to date has carried 200 yards.
I wasn't even trying to hit it hard... I had no idea I had this kind of shot in me. I will savor it a long, long time.
Oh and I parred the hole.
Hope everyone had a nice Labor Day and ended it on a nice note like me.
