I'll start with an honest disclaimer......I know how fortunate I am to live where I can play year 'round and this is NOT to show off, or rub anyone's nose in it.  I'm just curious.

Labor Day is now behind us and since one of my goals for the year was to keep my rounds up over 100, I wanted to see where I was year to date.   83 rounds so far, so I'm on track for a good 120+ for 2013.  You'd think with that much golf, I'd be better......

So, where are you?  How many rounds so far?  Are you pleased with the quantity and quality of your play so far this year?  How much longer before your season starts to wind down?

Damn, I can't believe it's September already.....

In David's bag....

I've played about eight full rounds of 18.

I might be as high as 13 rounds if you count random nines here and there.

Just logged in to see what I have posted on ghin and to date 57 rounds. Much of it 9 hole combined scores. Would have play more but I see some fairly big gaps between dates back in Feb-Apr when the weather was bad. I'll play right up to the end of the year here in CO. Last year I played on Thanksgiving and NYE. The only day the courses closed when it wasn't due to weather was Xmas.

51 rounds, only counting 18 hole rounds which I played at least 13 holes.  I am on pace for 75 rounds, weather permitting.  I wish I could have played more.    Quality wise, I had ups and downs but learned to "play" more relaxed, and enjoy.

Last year when I had all-you-can-play-green-fee yearly membership, I played 142 rounds.   I won't probably repeat that unless I quit my job for senior PGA tour card.

About 80 rounds so far in 2013, converting any two 9 hole sessions into a "full" round.

Our season in SE Michigan can be anywhere from 12 months (like the winter of 2011-12 that never was) to about 7 months when we have a late spring and early snow.

My playing frequency has been great.  The results of my play have been a bit lower in quality than hoped but there is still time.  A giant "bucket list" check off occurred when I spent a week in Scotland playing courses around St. Andrews, including the Old Course.

Generally we will play into November.  I consider a reasonable end to the season as Thanksgiving weekend but at times golf ends earlier and or goes further into late autumn.

Had a banner year this year (for me).  31 rounds so far, as well as 10 or so 9-hole rounds at the local par 3 course.

And thanks to the lack of a golf "season" in these parts, hopefully I can get up in the 40's before the year is out.

I can count on two hands the number of rounds I've played. :-( Maybe next year.

I may be around 20 rounds played. Which is probably a good reason why my game never really improved all that much. I play more consistently in the mid/upper 40's instead of one round mid 40's and one round in low 50's. Next year I am giving myself a very strict goal of being in the 80's before this time and having at least 50 ish rounds played with a "legal" handicap of at max 17. If I don't meet those modest goals I'll probably give up being "serious" about golf and only play on rare occasions.

We are around 25, on courses that are a par 68 to 72. With another maybe 20, 9 hole par 26 to par 36. That is about as much as we can do with work, school and scouts.

People assume that teaching Pros play a lot of golf. Not so. It's gotta be awfully tough trying to keep your own game in some semblance of shape when you spend all of your time helping other people with theirs!

I have played 10 rounds with 30 trips to the driving range! Would like to play more and I just discovered a course close to work that has decent 9-hole rates ... so hopefully that number can increase.

I always forget you guys are able to play all year.  I gotta move somewhere warm.

...... So, where are you?  How many rounds so far?  Are you pleased with the quantity and quality of your play so far this year?  How much longer before your season starts to wind down?

I checked GHIN and I've got 42 posted there so far. I also play a skins game most weeks that I normally do not post because the nature of that game prompts me to take a stab at "hero shots" that I normally would not (for good reason, they usually do not pay off!) but a par is pretty much only good for an atta'boy. And I play a few nines a month fooling around and just practicing that do not get posted. So I don't have a firm number, but I'm getting my share of time on the course and the range. Yes, I am pleased in general with quality and quantity, my game has improved markedly this year, and by the grace of good fortune I was born in Florida and through good planning I've never left, so I've got four months of the year to go! :-P

Driver: Titleist 913 D2 10.5*, Aldila RIP Phenom 50

Fairway 1: Titleist 913F, 17*, Titleist Bassara W55

I don't know for sure, but I'd say at least 30 full rounds.

All in all including practice? Probably 250 hours of golf.

As they say, if you love to play golf, don't get into the golf business.

wow, 100 sounds expensive

year to date - 42 based on the tracking website I use.  So there might be a couple few extras that I didn't load.

15 rounds of 9

27 rounds of 18

and it seems like I'm playing a TON.  I can't imagine 100 unless I was a member somewhere.

Lots of range time, including winter in the new indoor place - hours and hours of it.  I just like to hit sometimes.

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
