How long should my iron shaft be.

Soon I will be putting new shafts on my irons. I got a set of irons for a really good deal but they need new shafts. I know what shaft I want and I know how to replace it. (well I have a good idea on how to.)

The only thing i don't understand is how long should my the shafts be and how to even measure it.

Any tips would be great.

Be careful what you're doing. Do your clubs take 0.355" taper-tipped shafts or 0.370" parallel tips? Are you bothered about the finished clubs all being a given swingweight? Etc etc etc.

      Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
