Long story short, this was the best ball striking day I've put together all season. Everything seemed effortless, and both my driver and iron play was very solid. At the end of the day I came in with a 34 (-2), hit 7 out of 9 fairways, hit all 9 GIR's, and had 16 putts. I missed a pretty easy 10 foot birdie putt on the first hole, but also made about a 20 foot birdie putt on #4 that I wouldn't expect to make often, so I consider that a wash. Aside from that, there weren't really any shots I look back on and think man, I cost myself a stroke there. That doesn't mean there wasn't room for improvement, but I just don't feel like I cost myself any shots.
I have another practice round scheduled for Saturday morning when I will be able to get in a full round, and then the next weekend starts a stretch of 3 straight tournaments, the first of which is at this course. I really hope I can take this round and build off of it going into these tournaments... I know there's not really much of a point to this post, but I just wanted to share with you guys. I'm pumped!
