Was checking out golf digest, an article about Stensen's irons. I noticed he had kinesio tape on his left forearm. I am just wondering if that could be considered illegal? I guess maybe not if Tiger is allowed to wear medical tape over his fingers. He does this to help him grip the club more consistently.

The exception to Rule 14-3 for artificial devices and unusual equipment:

Exceptions:

1. A player is not in breach of this Rule if (a) the equipment or device is designed for or has the effect of alleviating a medical condition, (b) the player has a legitimate medical reason to use the equipment or device, and (c) theCommittee is satisfied that its use does not give the player any undue advantage over other players.

2. A player is not in breach of this Rule if he uses equipment in a traditionally accepted manner.

What is kinesio tape and how would having it on his arm help him?

But then again, what the hell do I know?

I actually just bought some Rock Tape for my lower back but I havent tired it yet. This blurb is from the website: What is Rocktape? RockTape is a special kind of tape known as kinesiology tape. First used by acupuncturists and chiropractors in Japan, today kinesiology tape is used by practitioners throughout the world to treat injuries and improve sports performance. What does it do? Rocktape is a kinesiology tape and is fantastic for treating common sports injuries like shin splints, plantars and runner’s knee. Rocktape also can increase endurance by promoting blood flow during an athletic event. Rock Sauce is the newest product and is a topical pain reliever. Rock Sauce is one of the most powerful pain relieving lotions you can buy over-the-counter. When Rock Sauce and Rocktape are combined, the athlete is completely revitalized. How does it work? When applied properly, ROCKTAPE lifts the skin away from the muscle, which promotes blood flow. Faster blood flow means more oxygen and more lymph drainage, which helps remove Lactic Acid. While the use of kinesiology is often associated with athletes such as Serena Williams, Kerri Walsh and Lance Armstrong, the reality is that RockTape is effective for the treatment of a wide variety of problems, not just sports injuries. What is Rocktape used for? • Achilles tendonitis • Plantar fasciitis • Jumpers knee (PFS) • ACL/MCL issues • Rotator cuff • Groin and hamstring pulls • Lower back issues • Shin splints • Tennis and golf elbow • Pain associated with pregnancy • Postural correction
