I honestly think he'll eventually get in but he's going to have a rough time. There are many sports writers who can't stand Bonds because of his arrogant nature and attitude toward the press. Many say that aspect of the voting process goes a long way.

I don't usually defend Barry but this thread is ridiculous. What cold hard facts do you have to prove that he took steroids. If you say that he did them back when they didn't test for them, well you know what even is he did back then, it wasn't against the rules. and i don't think you guys realize how good of a hitter he really is. just because you have big muscle doesn't make you be able to hit a 98 MPH fastball, or hit a wicked curveball. If any of you took steroids I still doubt you could hit one homer in the majors. Sure he's a jackass but it's not the people hall of fame, it's the baseball hall of fame. I am not a barry fan trust me, but people who say things like "what a cheater" and "i hate that guy" are just ignorant. have you ever heard of anything called the constitution, "innocent until proven guilty", whatever happened to that.

I also think that this is kind of rediculous. I mean, do I think he did steriods? Sure, I believe he did them but until it is proven you can't say that he won't get into the Hall just because he's an *******. A lot of people may not like him but there is no doubting how good of a player he is. I think it all depends on whether his relationship with steroids is proven before he is in the running for the Hall of Fame or not. If nothing has been proven, then he's in, but if he is charged and found guilty then I doubt he gets in.

The fact that Bud Selig was not at the game when he broke the record says a truckload of what's going on. This is/was the most prestigious record in baseball, seemingly untouchable...and if the freakin commissioner of baseball doesn't attend to see it happen, something is not right.

I do think Barry is a phenomenal baseball player, but I am also convinced he juiced.

Don't matter much to me though, I'm pretty sure this record will be broken again when A-Rod is 40.

Go to your local library and check out a book called Game of Shadows, which Barry Bonds has not refuted a single page of.

Bonds is a turd and if the Mark McGwire test case taught us anything it is that the crusty old bastards who vote players into the hall do, in fact, have a brain and that they care about the integrity of the game.

I still find it amazing that after Joe Jackson got banned for baseball for merely being suspected of wrong doing, that Bonds hasn't been thrown out of the sport on his injection bruised glutes.

The power of the players union has really changed this game...and sadly, with respect to this, for the worse...

Alright, this is out of hand. You all are a bunch of whinners!!!!!! Quit complaining about Bonds, my god. Yes, I am a Giants fan. Yes, I think Barry is juiced, BUT we have NO IDEA how many other players were on the juice as well. There is more than enough evidence to reasonably say scores of MLB players were taking enhancing drugs. Bonds has just become the obvious target. He is hated by most. He is arrogannt. He treats the press horribly, so he became the target. I, by no means, know the truth or how Bud Selig really feels, but I do have enough common sense to know he isn't the only one, just the main target.

BTW, the Hall of Fame, to me, is and always will be a joke without Pete Rose.
