Putting is all about speed/weight and line. Both of these elements are highly dependant on your ability to read the putt. In a money game I'd let you use a pool cue because I don't think it would make lick of difference if your read is wrong to begin with.
The pool cue will definitely let you hit your line easier due to the way you sight along a cue but given that your line is wrong anyway, who cares.
Also, your line changes (in some cases dramatically) with the speed you choose to hit your putt so it ain't the tool, it's the carpenter.
