I think I am out of slump, shooting couple of 90s (after ESC) this weekend.   Unlike you, I don't want to end up with 96 (your 86) tomorrow.   I am going to go out on a little limb and say I will shoot under 90 (Wente Vinyards course).   That will confirm I am out of slump.

Could not come through with my prediction.  Instead, I did 98 from blue tee.   Not a good score but not the end of the world.  I just could not get my short game going which is my strength.

Yukari - I love the course, too, but it is proving to be difficult to tame.  Par 5s supposed to be easier than par 4s.  Not so here.   Par 3s are easiest but you can still post big numbers.  I think the course plays harder than its current rating (71.2/128 <-- recently adjusted to be lower).

I play the same course this weekend.  I am predicting that I will break 90 at least once, even if I have to play from white tee.

I'm supposed to play at Trenton, Ga. this afternoon.

I will predict 4 over par 76 but holes 3,4, and 5 will tell the story. If I can come out of those holes at one or two over par I could shoot even par for the course but in the past I was always lucky to be plus five after five holes on that course.

I have similarly troublesome holes and I circle them in my scorecard to give more mental focus.   If I get good scores on those, I will do well for the entire round.   Good luck!

Thanks for the well wishes. Good thing I'm not in the prediction business though.

Shot an 80. I actually played my "troublesome holes" better than I usually do and was plus 3 after 5 holes and one of those bogeys was on the relatively easy first hole after a perfect tee shot (inexcusable). Unfortunately I blew too many easy up and downs the rest of the round too. Simply a lack of focus. I had one 30 foot chip for eagle from a yard over the green and only managed a par on the hole. That was about typical of my short game today.

Whoever set the pins today must have been in a bad mood. Well over half of the pins were within 10 feet from the edge of the green. Of course we are supposed to have a little more sense than to continually leave ourselves short-sided (like I did all day).

Oh well...There's always next time and we had fun!

I will be playing Wolf Creek in Mesquite tomorrow and the Chase at Coyote Spring on Saturday (both in NV).

I played Wolf Creek many times.  One of my favorites.

I am hoping to shoot 78 at Wolf Creek (I usually shoot high 70's to low 80's there) and since I am playing the Chase for the first time, I am hoping 82 (I'll keep my fingers crossed on this one).

Just hoping to get out this weekend. Haven't played my home course in awhile and would like to at least get 9 in at some point (preferably the back 9). The back 9 is par 36 (34.8/126) and I always struggle on it compared to the front. Best I've ever scored on the back is a 48 so I'm hoping to get that down to at least a 46.

Playing my par 3/4 muni course today... 60.4/94 par 66... I'm going to shoot 72.

Hopefully a 54. a1_smile.gif Four of us are playing in a scramble with a 12 inch cup. Playing for birdie on every hole, maybe a par and an eagle. Conditions are an issue, cold and possibly 25 mph winds up here in the north. Last year 54 was the best score.

Hopefully a big deer... Taking a weekend off from golfing to head out to the deer stand.

12 inch cup?   That'd boost anyone's putting confidence.

One of my past home course used a 12 inch cup once.   They were fixing a par 5 hole's green for 6 months.   So, they made a temporary green (not a real green, grass was just cut low) in the middle of fairway and stuck a 12 inch cup.  It became a par 4 hole for all intents and purposes even though green was very bumpy.   Having a 12 inch cup was a no gimme from any range, I recall.

I have two rounds of golf at my home course this weekend.   I will break 90 from white or blue tee at least once this weekend.  Although playing from white tee should be much easier, I have been posting similar scores from either tee.

I will also predict world peace, no hunger, improve O-zone layer, stop glacier melting, and end to the two party system (those Dem Reps).  By tomorrow, no less.  B-)

Okay, I feeling confident with this new swing Mike has taught me.

I'm going for it. 88 or better on Santa Anita Blues (70.6/122), and I'm playing a lateral (1 stroke) on all holes if I land in another fairway.

It's really a great scramble. They send off two teams at once which limits cheating. They use the 12 inch cup but make tough pin placements. You are right, it's not a gimme outside of 20 ish feet.

I think you get an automatic 5 stroke handicap when you change to a new swing.  Rule of bogey golf 23-4. :-P

What do you mean "playing lateral?"  You should play PGA tour rule.  I've seen tour players hitting 2nd shot from another fairway without any penalty.  .

Shot a 82 today so next Sat with either be an 82 or....100?

Never know what i will get until I start playing.

Taking a lateral, meaning a stroke penalty and no distance, if I need to hit from another fairway. I screwed up a par 5 today with a real OB (marked that way with a sign), needed to take stroke AND distance. Even with that I carded a 7 on that hole. Could have parred it, for the first time. :censored:

Did not do too bad, today, but still have room for improvement. Like many more rounds. :-P

"Rule of bogey golf 23-4"? Cool, I am starting off with a 25 HC ;-).

I won't make a bogey tomorrow..............(I don't plan to play)........LOL
