I have noticed that choking down improves my accuracy noticeably and reliably.  Should I have have my driver shortened and re-weighted? It is an adjustable Titleist driver. Or should I leave well enough alone and just remember to choke down?

There's one without a definite answer.  I'll vote to just keep choking down though, if you are pleased with the results!  Shortening the shaft, and then adjusting swing weight may have other unforeseen effects.  If it ain't broke, don't fix it.  Depending on how far you are choking down, it may be affecting your grip since grips do tend to get thinner farther down.  A mid-size grip, or some extra tape might help with that if it is a consideration.  An inch wide strip of duct tape at the butt end could help remind you that you want to grip down a bit, and of course it looks manly as hell too!

If you choke down youll change how the club feels anyway. There will be more weight above your wrist, so there will be more of a slighf counterbalance. This is also an inherent flaw in the swing weight method.

Just choke down. There are too many other things that need to be adjusted if you actually cut your driver shaft down. As others have mentioned, maybe it's the smaller diameter of the grip, maybe its the length, etc. that lets you hit it better. Either way, if it feels good to you, stick with it.

Bonus: it costs you nothing!

and a standard length driver is easier to sell

I cut 1.5" off of my driver for the same reason and loved the results.  Didn't add any weight back to the head and didn't really notice any difference in swingweight.  Swingweight is just a number anyway--do what works.

I choke down on most of my clubs and rarely grip them long. I was taught that the shorter one grips the club, the better the control. The difference in length between choking down and gripping normally is insignificant because improved control will work out better in the long run.

I shortened one of my old drivers as an experiment and it became unplayably light for me. If it were my only driver, I would have been stuck. I just don't think it's a good idea to make a permanent alteration to your equipment without knowing if it will give you the results you are seeking.
