Where do you look or what sources do you reference when you want to find out more about new items.

How do you like retailers and manufacturers to talk to you?

We are a new company and interested in understanding how we should talk to you

Is it forums?

Is it facebook ads?

What works?

Thanks folks

You can certainly learn about equipment on forums like this. Key is to take every 'opinion' with a grain of salt and make an informed decision based on fact and personal observation. My decision process about any product is to learn about the existance of a product, do google searches and look for sites with reviews. If the reviews look positive, I may purchase something outright if it's a low-cost item, or go see it in person to see, touch, feel the product if necessary. If it's a big dollar item, enlisting the advice of a professional may be warranted. Forums and websites with reviews. Industry publications. Retailers. Professional advice. These are the mediums that help collect facts leading to an informed purchase decision. dave

The ultimate "old man" setup:

Ping G30 driver
Ping G Fairway woods - 5 and 7 woods
Callaway X-Hot #5 hybrid; Old school secret weapon
Ping G #6-9 irons; W and U wedges
Vokey 54 and 58* Wedges
Odyssey Versa Putter
Golf Balls

Dave thanks for such a detailed response. I really appreciate that. I don't know if you are big and tall but if you don't mind I would love to get your opinion on Aveo right now. We are new but we are available and info does exist. We are pushing right now to create more brand presence and awarness. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated

Hi Mr Desmond. I love that you said that. We are doing both now. Our fb page is www.facebook.com/aveogolf and we have just had 2 of 4 reviews to drop right here on the sand trap. Check them out under the apparel forum and give me your thoughts. We also had a review to drop on Bunkers Paradise. All have been good thus far. We would love to hear more from you.

Dave put your research skills to good use and tell me if based on what you find if you would purchase a pair of Aveo shorts or pants. Fyi we have brand new reviews that just posted here on the sand trap

Sure, let me do some poking around your website and sellers websites this weekend. This is a regular part of my full-time day job sometimes ... to review customer websites and make recommendations on how to update and/or upgrade the website messaging customers see. dave

Thanks Dave - We are actually beginning to redesign our website in the coming weeks so any feedback you have will be extremely valuable to us.  - Thanks

Also based on what you find would you be comfortable enough to buy based on website, facebook, reviews, and information on the internet.

Thanks

I am probably the exception to the norm because I make absolutely no effort to keep up with the new technology of the day.   I don't really care to stay current to the day..so to speak.    I stay relatively current because I play a lot and I'm around the game.

I pay no attention to the new driver being released by XYZ company this summer.

What's in Paul's Bag:
- Callaway Big Bertha Alpha Driver
- Big Bertha Alpha 815 3-wood
- Callaway Razr Fit 5-wood
- Callaway Big Bertha 4-5 Rescue Clubs
-- Mizuno Mx-25 six iron-gap wedge
- Mizuno Mp-T4 56degree SW
- Mizuno Mp-T11 60degree SW
- Putter- Ping Cadence Ketsch

I agree.  Drivers and such seem to come down in price so fast, I just wait to get it used most of the time.

I honestly can't tell you exactly which 5-wood and 4-rescue I play.

I know they are both Razr.....

I know one of the 2 clubs is a Razr Fit,  and the other club is a different Razr....Hahaha.....I couldn't tell you which club is the Fit without looking.  They both play as if they are the exact same.

I can understand that.  I am that way to a point - I pay attention to new technology but always with the plan of if I like it i will buy it next year once its replacement comes out and the price drops (i also buy used ALOT - 3ballsgolf is my friend - check them out if you have not.  Ill buy a new driver about every 3-5 years same with my other woods - putter i rarely replace.

Now on the other hand when it comes to apparel i was constantly paying attention there just because i am a BIG guy and if anything was releasing that i thought may fit i was giving it a try - we (big guys) tend to have to buy what we can find that fits and buy it at that moment bc its a rare find -  that is the entire reason i created Aveo just to have a brand that constantly had the big and tall golfer in mind.
