I have a park right near my apartment complex. I was thinking of getting good practice balls and practicing over there.

Do you guys always drive out to the course and pay to practice?

I'm lucky that I have a lawn with an undulating slope where I can practice little pitches, flop shots and chips. I can also hit full swings with short irons if I use practice balls (I like Pelz's "Point-3"). And across the street from me is several thousand acres of woods, so once in a while I'll fire a couple of iron shots in there then head out with my dog to retrieve them.

For longer club practice though, I do go to the range.

Bag It:

3-Wood Wishon 525 F/D, 13*, Matrix Studio 65gm, Golf Pride Dual Compound
Hybrid: Wishon "321", 24*, MSF 85 HB, Winn DSI
Irons: Wishon 770CFE, Matrix Studio 74gm, Winn DSI

Putter: Odyssey DFX 2-Ball

Bag: Some big, honkin', ridiculous overkill of an Ogio cart bag with more pockets than I have teeth.
