Do you whisper sweet nothing's to the ball or do you yell at like an abusive parent?

Other than an occasional (or more) "Oh crap" as soon as I hit it I don't do any talking...Just hoping.

I might say "thank you" or "about time" when I finally sink a putt for par after a string of bogeys, doubles, triples, etc.

I talk to my ball after stepping on my 3 rescue, trying to hit ball high to an elevated green, having the ball and soft  from 220 out.

Didn't answer the poll, since you didn't include my answer.  I don't talk to my ball.  Just never got in the habit.  I talk to myself sometimes while the ball is in the air, like "Come on, hit the damn ball!" or similar, but that's about it.

I talk to my ball in the car on the way to the course. Sometimes it cries.

I don't talk to my ball except maybe, at times, when it begins to fade.  You know you can talk to a fade, but draws are as waste of breath (yes I know Lee T. said this first but I like it).

Anyway I don't really ever talk to my ball but sometimes my ball has me talking to myself.

I would fall into the "about freakin time" category when I finally make a decent putt.

Sadly, we're lacking a "ha-dump-bump" smiley.

That would be incredibly handy. Maybe a little snare drum or something.

Or a Fozzie Bear icon. a3_biggrin.gif

On the drive home, usually asking why it's going to leave me hanging when I try to give it a high five

I usually talk to hit when I hit a too pure of an approach shot and ask her to sit, cause i know i just bombed it 10 yds past...

I want to change my answer from after it has stopped to while it is in the air.  After some reflection, I realized that I do sometimes coax the ball while it is in flight ("Come on, baby, get over the trap, GET OVER THE TRAP!)  After it has stopped, it would be more like I'm cussing myself (quietly of course!) since it isn't really the ball's fault.  Most times I just watch the ball flight in stunned silence, then cuss myself under my breath as needed, which led to my poll answer.

I usually say something with a religious meaning to it... like "Jesus Christ"....

My ball and I are no longer on speaking terms. My DT Solo caught me (in a moment of weakness) looking at pictures of the E6 on the web. I even tried the "really, it's not you, it's me" line but it was too late, the damage had been done, and we've decided its best for the children that we part as friends now rather then drag this out any longer.

What can I say, but I've always had commitment issues when it comes to long-term relationships and just not sure my old ball understands me anymore...HAHA!

"Stay There"

"Be Right"

"Come Back"

"Keep Coming"

"Hang On"

"Go!"

"STOP!!!"

"Get Down!"

"Get Up!"

"Be Nice"

"Sit Down"

These are but a few of the choice phrases that my ball and I use to communicate.
