small dot on titleist drivers?

Hey guys i have a question about titleist drivers. On the bottom of the club, near the shaft, there is what seems like a small black "dot" . I noticed its also on their 3 woods and hybrids, around the same location around the shaft. Is this some kind of pressure relief valve or something? If you have any idea please comment below and as always thank you.

I believe that is the characteristics of a bore through shaft, meaning the shaft goes all the way through the clubhead. I know some Callaway drivers are made that way. I could be wrong though.

Im pretty sure its not a bore through characteristic becauseIf its not in line with the shaft. If you look at a picture of the titleist 913 driver its a very small black dot just off the left of the shaft.

Might have something to do with the assembly of the club, not sure

You could call Titleist and ask them. They are very helpful from my experience.

I hadn't noticed it until I looked at mine just now. Almost looks like some kind of plug. Do they put any kind of material in the club head?

I believe that's what it's for - injecting foam. @mvmac will email Titleist later today to ask.

Now, I'm probably wrong, because there are several other places you could inject foam, so… I'll wait to see too!

From Titleist:

"It is used as an injection site for the hot melt, which is used to tune the sound."

Woo! Go me!

Though hot melt is more like a hot glue rather than foam. So I only get partial credit.
