Just as the title says:

What are you asking for Christmas this year that is golf related?

I've asked for a couple pair of TRUE shoe wear.

I also asked for the Mackdaddy 2 Wedges in 52/56/60

Lets hear it from the rest of ya!

List...

- Asked for a Garmin G3 GPS device

- Will be getting a Trolley for free(!) as my dad is upgrading to an electric one

- Some more winter gear for those cold range sessions in the evening

- Nike Summer golf shoes (going really cheap @ ~£40-£50) - won't be able to use them for a while, but there you go :-)

I can't believe I'm saying this, but no golf items on my Christmas wish list.  30 years of golfing and I'm pretty well stocked up on everything!

Yeah, wanna make 14 dollars the hard way?

A disc golf course in Erie.

Seriously, though, I never have anything on my Christmas list. I kid myself and say things like "the power shovel I got is my Christmas present" or "the deep dish pizza making supplies I just bought are my Christmas present," but I buy things when I need them, so it's just a "con" to say they're "Christmas presents" that I bought for myself.

My wife, similarly, doesn't have anything on her list.

I am still shocked that for the size of Erie, PA there isn't a disc golf course.

My big one is a laser rangefinder, and the usual couple dozen of golf balls.

Not so much what's ON my list, but what I can't bear to receive year after year . . . junky golf knickknacks, banal golf humor or guide books, the same old golf calendars, etc., etc..

How about an envelope marked "Golf Fund" full of big bills?

-Golfsmith gift cards so I can get a new driver

-Some 3Up golf balls

-a nice divot repair tool

-golf umbrella

That's actually the bulk of my list, I asked for a few shirts and books. That's pretty much it. I feel guilty asking for anything big after my wife splurged and surprised me with a pro studio quality electronic drumkit :-D

My wife has items on her list but her list drives me batty.  Conventional wisdom tells a man that he shouldn't buy things such as Vacuum cleaners, refrigerators, or appliances for your wife's Christmas present.  However, that is exactly what my wife wants!  Growing up as a kid and even in my teenage years my family always used Christmas as a time to get the "wants" in life.  Our gifts were rarely practical things like appliances.

So with my wife and kids now I try to treat it the same way.  On Christmas I like to purchase items that my family "wants" that they normally wouldn't purchase or that may normally be out of our price range.  Unfortunately, even with me offering to buy it for her anytime, my wife insists on wanting a Vacuum cleaner for Christmas.  If this is truly what she wants I'll obviously get it for her, but I feel bad lol.

Co-Workers:  What did your husband get you for Christmas?

Wife: He got me a vacuum cleaner.

......

Oh well, a bit off topic, sorry.

Hey for the record, my wife was THRILLED with the Shark vacuum I got her for Christmas last year. The kids actually use it more than she does, now that they're old enough to have specific chores to do. But she loved it.

The matching hand vac I got her for Mother's Day, however, didn't go over so well.....

The rangefinder I just bought for myself last week is my Christmas present. ;-)

Honestly, I've been saying since last season that I intended on making an Edel putter the top (and really, only) item on my list.  However, with the big birthday party my wife just threw, the rangefinder, a bunch of new golf clothes, etc, etc ... I don't know that the putter is in the cards yet.

I'll bring it up soon, perhaps, to test the waters. ;)

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
