Light Head Driver + Heavy Shaft

Okay guys so I currently have a Cleveland SL290 but I replaced the crazy light miyazaki shaft with an ACCRA AC65 and cut it down to 44.5. Since doing this I find I have had a lot more control, I have a swing speed of 95mph but my shot tendancy is still a slight fade or a slice, never straight, I've been considering changing the shaft out to a 75 gram shaft instead to get some more stability.  I really love this driver when I hit it, I hit it but I'm not quite consistent enough, I've also been debating ordering one of clevelands TL310 heads that are just a bit heavier and throwing my AC65 into that, after demoing a nike covert tour I've found a new love for smaller driver heads I feel more confident with them. Anyways, any thoughts on how much a 75 gram shaft would throw off the balance of the sl290? Is it a bad idea to have such a heavy shaft in such a light head?

Thanks a ton guys!

Actually it isn't that light weight of a club head. Its about 198 grams, which is pretty typical. Most drivers range from 180-210 grams. 200 grams really has been the sweet spot for club head weight for a long time now.

Alright, well what do you think my best bet is?

It is tough to say. Swing weight is a subjective thing. I found even if you cut a shaft down, and add extra weight to the head, it doesn't really feel the same. Smaller shafts just feel quicker to me no matter what the swing weight, less of an arc. A heavier shaft, you will feel the club more in your swing, their will just be more weight overall. I prefer heavier golf shafts, but I have a very high swing speed.

You will probably end up getting a bit more consistency out of the driver, but you might loose distance if the swing speed changes because it is heavier.

I say just go demo some golf clubs. Maybe find a new one that is similar to the Cleveland, and try out different shafts with with different weights. Just see which ones give you the best feel.

What length?

Well I might start out with it a little longer than my current one, try to make up for the extra weight with some length, so maybe 45/45.5?
