SCGA "Member Outings" - Check 'em out!

Those of you who are already SCGA members have likely received emails about these already, but perhaps you haven't looked at them.  These are one day "non competitive" tournaments where they allow us to play private clubs, or high end courses at reduced rates.  I am going to be taking advantage of one they are offering at Mission Viejo Country Club next month, as its a course I've always wanted to play, but for (obvious) reasons, have never had the opportunity.

Anybody else out there who has longed to play any private clubs in your area (Mission Viejo, Coto De Caza around here, Bighorn out by you @tristanhilton85 , and @mvmac gets the opportunity to play places like Fairbanks Ranch, and San Diego CC, among others) should check out the list at scga.org.

Cool... I had not seen that. I think that I'll join the SCGA this year, I haven't before but this makes me want to. Not sure if I want to pay $250 to play golf, but it is Big Horn, so maybe. $100 for Mountain View CC would probably be worth it.

Thanks for posting this.

Thanks for the update, yeah I usually just delete SCGA emails but I'll look for this one.  San Diego CC is one of my favorite courses.

I imagine you have other avenues at your disposal to get access to these courses as well. ;)

Speaking of SDCC, the Golf Channel Am Tour that I play my tournaments with is having one there in June.  So instead of paying $105 to play a casual round, I'll pay an extra $70 and give myself the opportunity to win some (or all) of it back.

Sounds like it's a bit of a hidden gem, seeing as how I'd never really heard of it prior to this year, and now I come to find out that they've been around forever, and even hosted a US Womens Open and Am ... and are hosting the US Womens Am again in a couple of years.

Apparently they are known for their fast greens?
