X hot v razr x black

Hi I'm new to this site so please be gentle if I do something wrong. Anyway, I went to a golf shop to try some new irons yesterday. Tried both the razr x black and the x hot. Possibly liked the razr's better but on both I blocked it slightly right. I was told that I need the clubs setting more upright slightly as it was slightly towards the toe I was hitting? Any preferences for each of these irons, and is what is being said correct please?

The Razr X Black head is not as wide as the x hot, so the x hot should be a more forgiving iron.

I don't know if the lie angle would change the point on the face where you are contacting the ball.  However, the toe of the club might be contacting the ground and opening the face. In other words the club head is tilted down toward the toe instead of being level with the ground.

In that case you would need a more upright lie.

Thanks Dave. Very much appreciated. I can currently get either at the same price. What do you think I won't blame you for a bad decision but I'm torn at the min. The new ones versus the older black ones?!!!

According to the fitter I have no problems with grip or setup. (God knows why I can't pick up the handicap I left with a few years ago!)

Can you take a demo club of each an hit it on some real turf at a driving range?
