I'm iffy on Madden, because the A.I. is completely inept for online play. If you're doing MUT Seasons (which I am off-and-on with solo MUT stuff), there are too many folks who can exploit the bad defensive A.I. If you have a mobile QB, a play-action pass where you send guys deep then run with the QB is hard to defend, mostly because the game won't let you switch to a defender to charge the QB.
I played the Destiny beta and passed. The social/MMO aspects of the game are a complete dud. There are too many loading screens, and they take too long. The story is mostly useless/unexplained. The gunplay is good, but it's ruined by an overall bland world, story, and set of enemies.
As for console selection, I have the One and the Wii U. I've never felt that passing on Sony consoles has been a mistake for me. The only franchise they have that I want to play is Kingdom Hearts (looking for a cheap, used PS3 to do that before KH3 is out on the One), though the loss of MLB 2K has me wanting The Show now. The rest just doesn't intrigue me, because the shooters on the Xbox consoles (Halo, Gears) have blown the Sony option (Killzone, Resistance) out of the water. If you like shooters, I'd recommend the Xbox. If you like the action/adventure stuff, PlayStation is better. If you like local multiplayer, Nintendo's Mario Kart 8 is hard to beat.
I personally believe that if you are going to get just one console, it's between the One and PS4, with the Wii U mostly an afterthought due to lack of third-party support and good online play. If you are to get TWO consoles though (which I ultimately did), then the Wii U HAS to be the second choice, because the One and PS4 are so similar with their libraries that having both while passing on the Wii U is a crime.
