So I just bought the DVD set of the 5SK system.  In my opinion using data sets and video to compare great swing mechanics of great players is not only common sense but easily the smartest thing that any sport teacher should do in this day and age.  Before I blew my shoulder out, and coached that is what we did in baseball for pitching mechanics.  It was so much more effective than someone just "eyeballing," things.

Anyway, getting to my question....how exactly do you know you've earned a key?  Not having watched the dvds because I have to wait for them to be shipped I am assuming there is some type of process?  Btw if this is answered in detailed fashion in the videos just let me know and I will wait for them.....Any help otherwise would be great!

Can you do the Key properly? That's about it. In person, we hand out actually physical keys and the player has to not only demonstrate it but answer some questions about how you do it, why it's important, etc.

But basically, if you can do them:

Key #1 - Can you turn your torso 90° or so while maintaining a steady head, and keep it relatively steady on the downswing?

Key #2 - Do you get 80%+ of your pressure forward at A7?

Key #3 - Is your shaft inline at impact or just after impact?

Key #4 - Is your clubhead on a good plane and a good path into the ball?

Key #5 - Can you control the starting direction of your ball consistently?

Ok, that makes sense. I will await the dvds. I hope this will take me to a five handicap rather quiclkly into the year. I think I will get the most benefit out of the drills. Thanks for clearing that up.

How about a "Key Badge" for each key online as well.. Sure would be something to brag about here anyway.. Just a thought.. Each key can have a special look to it, cumulating in the final combined key badge for achieving all keys finally! Just a thought. And a hope that I can do it!

So just got this today.....I got through the entire DVD, and I must say that it's given me the feedback on what I needed to fine tune my swing.

The center head along with the backswing and the "stretching,"  allow me to actually achieve that hip slide.  Before I did not know how to achieve the hip slide.  The stretched right leg and tilted hips at the top of the backswing push the right hip in the left and force the hip slide in the downswing..  If you achieve the hip slide there is no way you don't have 80+ percent of your weight on your left foot at impact.

I am really impressed with these DVDs and I honestly think they will allow me to shed 5 strokes off of my handicap by the end of the summer.

Saturday is supposed to be in the 50s so if it does not rain a ton I will go out to the course and tape my swing with some of these new improvements.

My swing thought is to focus on the head not moving in the backswing and the only way to achieve that is to stretch the right hip up and have the shoulder under the chin at the top of the backswing.  If that happens I think pretty much everything else except the face angle will automatically fall into place with the rest of the swing.

I think the biggest work I need to do will be with teaching the hands.  A big majority of what they teach I was astonished to find out that I was doing.  The forward shaft lean is the biggest one.  I don't see myself having a difficult time with that!

Like I said if the weather is ok on Sat I'll get some video of my swing.  That said I have a very big thumbs up to give to this DVD set.....
