Dave and I had a hand in designing these wedges (namely in including a good amount of bounce/glide to them), and we think they're pretty great.

Right now you can save $30 on the Synergy Wedges at Golf Shop Central:

Click this link http://www.golfshopcentral.com/p-335-kickx-ma-9-synergy-balanced-wedges.aspx and the wedges will cost $62.96 apiece.

Would be all over it for that price if there was a 54 and 58. Suppose I could take them in for a tweak. Seriously great "now" pricing, can't even get a leftover CG15 for that.

Can you send a couple over to Golfgalaxy.com at that price?  I have $225 in gift cards that I don't know what to do with right now.  I would totally "waste" it on a couple of wedges I don't need if you guys are recommending them.

To be fair, I still recommend fitted Edel wedges first, but the MSRP on those is about 3x the cost of these right now. So… :)

Drew, you can sell your gift card. You should be able to get over $150 out of it. ;)

Look pretty nice. What does "proprietary synergy balancing" actually do?

Sound cool?

No, but really, it moves the sweet spot a bit farther out to the toe. Lots of wedges have it in the heel. This helps (a little - not quite as much as Edel's).

Ah. Sensible design that I think that would be worth a few extra words on the Web site! :-)

Yeah, I want to ... but if I am able to I'm going to apply the cash towards a putter before I get new wedges. :)

Bummer, I went and bought a SM4 just before Christmas. I could have gotten two of these.

They don't sell Edel putters there. :)

Right.  Maybe I should have spelled it out more ...

Erik,

The specs sheet on these wedges lists a Dynalite 110 shaft. Maybe this is a variation on Dynalite SL? Would you know the weight, launch and flex characteristics on the shaft?

Thanks.

I think there are a number of them out there. I think they're different than the SL. I can't say for sure though - I don't know. You could always email to ask them.

For $63 I might just take the shaft out anyway. :)

Erik, are there any other photos available? Specifically what they may look like at address.

No. I did tweet a link to an image of them face on though. The club face, I mean.

  • 2 weeks later...

the things i've been told to take into consideration when buying wedges

where do you play most of your golf

does your golf course have alt of of tight lies

what kind of sand are the bunkers (loose or tight packed)

is the rough thick or just average grass

and so on

as far as a brand new i cant give you 1 but i would replace all the wedges so i had the same fell through out the set

if you can get fitted for your wedges and make sure to gap them correctly
