Champions Tour par 3 money event

The Champions Tour is having a money event on a par 3 golf course that is a 9 hole course played twice. The golf channel is saying how great this is and that golf is transitioning to smaller courses.

My take is similar to Paige MacKenzie's, that is just a gimmick and to hype this like it is something special is bogus.  What is your take.

Just when I thought we had finally gotten rid of the silly season type of events.

Maybe they'll let their kids caddie for them too.  That'd be cute.....

Mabye they can move this event to Myrtle Beach, and play a round at the putt putt course at Broadway at the Beach with the fire breathing dragon.

It was fun when they did the Par 3 shootout on the threetops course at Treetops about 5 years ago - but that was just one group in a made for TV event.

An actual tour (albeit Champions tour ) event on a par 3 course is crazy
