What's Your Ideal Golfing Weather?

Thread Starter

A friend of mine and myself were at an indoor driving range a few weeks ago. Amongst the small talk between shots, the question of "what's your ideal/favouriote golfing weather" came up. He said his is a hot, sunny day with high temps, whereas I said mine was a cool, cloudy day with a little bit of drizzle, to his surprise.

How about you guys? What's your ideal weather scenario or weather you play best in?

70 degrees, sunny, with just a slight breeze.

EXACTLY like today, and I'm NOT PLAYING! d1_bigcry.gif

Cool and a little overcast. Long pants and sweater weather. ;). (But dry and calm)

60 *F, sunny, no breeze or 70*f with light breeze.

Hot and dry. I like it in the middle of summer, late afternoon when the heat has chased everyone away.

The hotter, the better. Absolutely hate teeing off in anything under 60 degrees - even if it warms up after a few holes.

Ideally, temps in the 80s or 90s - nothing an ice cold beer or 2 cant fix.

Mid 60s and sunny.  Warm enough to wear shorts and cool enough where I don't sweat.

85 degrees is perfect with a small breeze.

Really warm, 80s, and some humidity.  It's tough for me to get and stay loose in cool, dry weather.  Simply love playing in places like FL and the Gulf Coast.  That's my kind of weather!

I don't care what weather it is, as long as the course is open. Living in NW Indiana, Ive been crying looking at the 5th green on the golf course near my apartment and see it covered in snow. Just glad I'm moving to San Antonio in April so this is my last winter dealing with this horrible white stuff.

Overall, ideal for me is about 75 degrees, sunshine and very little wind.   But right now, ideal is anything warm enough that there is no snow on the ground and the course is open for play....

+1.

A sunny day with not a cloud in sight and the temperature in the 80's or 90's is money.

This. As long as it's not breezy.

Yep sounds good to me.

Mid 70's..these old bones need warming up. Slight breeze to none, overcast, or sunny, doesn't matter. So typical southern calif. weather...:-D

Anything over 70 degrees and sunny...And I always hated wind even before I ever played golf. Golf magnified that hatred (damned island green).

Anything over... I guess 65 or 70. I prefer dry heat to humidity. I've yet to plan to play golf on a given day and then decided that no, it's too hot. This includes Palm Spring in the summer.
