Here's the latest shot fired at the evils of gambling: Golf course gambling probe has Florida duffers teed off

I guess there's no actual crime in Tarpon Springs to keep the police busy, so they have to invent things.

I wonder if I should claim that $1.75 I won last week on my taxes so they only get me for gambling and not for tax evasion.

That's ridiculous..............

Most of the pot games I play in these days aren't sponsored by the course.  Everybody kicks money into the kitty and the course itself has no part in it.     On the other hand when I belonged to a private club, we had a mens association tourney every month sponsored by the club and it was all about the payouts.  That was the whole point....we were all playing for $$$!!!  (usually pro-shop credits)  A lot of money also changed hands, but it was all side games among competitors.

Guess @impactswing is still causing trouble in Florida Probably because of him and those clean, lift and place lies. More seriously, sounds like they have to investigate because they got a complaint and it will probably blow over or they will classify it as something else. In a strict technical sense, you are supposed to report gambling winnings. So that $5 you relieved your buddy of is taxable...but like jaywalking, it's rarely enforced.
