I've been Playing Golf for: 20 years

My current handicap index or average score is: 2.2

My typical ball flight is: Low

The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Left side/hook

This is my winterswing, it's better in the summers ;)

And my swing is selfmade...

Welcome to the forum @Dirtyzecret .  Is there something specific you want to improve?  There are several teaching professionals on the site who have given us great insight on what to work on.

The Swing Thoughts section has numerous tips and videos to help guide improvement.

Ouch! I know for sure they are probably going to say your back posture is going to hurt you in the long run.

Hehe, now I understand what you mean, and I have problems with my posture. Got paralyzed in April 2010 in a motorbike accident, did wheelchair for a couple of years and have had problems in my hips, knees and back since then. Not problem that it hurts, but I have metal in my body. So I tend to be very stiff, that said im working on it training my back at the gym. That position is what feels the most comfortable. But if I practice and try to get it right maybe I will get more shoulder turn, adding a couple of yards to my drive? :)

I will also try to practice my finish, with stepping out with my legg, this way I cant stop the swing without twitching my back everytime. But I dont know where to start and how to time it. Sort of like Bubba Watson does with his legs, only thing he is a lefty..

Sorry to hear that about the accident, but dang you have some great speed in that swing!  You are afraid of tweaking you back so my guess is that is causing you to engage your back muscles too much and be tense at address.  Instead try and use your stomach muscles to relax the back a bit.  You may feel like you are sucking in your stomach a little bit.

The great video by Mike at the end of that first post in the posture thread shows how to do this:

I will try this and film my swing later this week. See if things get any better, the movie I posted where from September last year, I still use same setup but hit my drive longer now. Average 316 meters when I hit 30 balls. But I think it's easier for me to get '' a wider'' takeaway if I practise on the setup like in this movie. And maybe that will add som ekstra yards :) I tend to look like im chopping wood with an axe when im hitting my driver, the swing should me wider and rounder, not so step maybe? Anyways the key have to be the setup....thnx

edit: 316 meters = 345 yards

Hi and welcome!

I don't often comment on swings, but I was struck by your comment that you have had a back, hip, and knee issue.... and then I see how far you are able to get your club on the backswing.  In between the 0:05 and 0:06 mark of your swing video, I can see your clubhead reach all the way to near the bottom aqua portion of the screen. You club goes WAAAAAAAAY past parallel, and I could swear it is seen near your hips. I can't see your hands at the top, but they appear pretty high, so the club could be at a 45 degree downward angle.  Just seems to me that is a lot of club arc for a swing.  I think you can get nearly as much power with a more compact swing, with perhaps a bit more control.  But then again, you are the 2.2, and I'm up around 11. Take my observations with a grain of salt!

Anyway, welcome!

Edit: I just read that you do Long Drive Competitions!! Ah, now the big swing makes sense!!!

Hello and thanks for answer. I got this swing from hitting balls with my dads clubs since I was 7 year or so, so my trainers have never wanted to lurk it out since it's in the body. Its selfmade and I have never done so much swinging with pga trainers, only putting stroke practise and 100 yards inn. The body issues I got from a motorbike accident, not the swing, hehe... And it's this psychological thing that I need to se club in my left eye in my backswing before ripping! Know its not the most beautiful swing from the best chapters in the book, but it tends to do its work either way :)
