Snacks whilst playing!

I feel I need to eat during a round! And I always take something with me! My favourite snack on the course is a pork pie! Love em!! Also partial to a scotch egg! Or a cheese and ham salad roll with salad cream! (Don't like mayo)
These snacks are tasty, quite filling and fuel me without feeling heavy on the tum!
My friend eats nothing but bananas! I call him banana man, as it also describes his ball flight!
Another friend just eats buiscuits crisps and cake bars! Each to their own I say!
What does anyone else eat?? I'm after inspiration!

I usually limit my food to a banana, and some cantaloupe slices. I use take these when I cycled, and they seem to help with giving a boost in energy.

Ahhhh! Yup! They're melons! That type is a rock melon over here! As opposed to regular melon and water melon!

I had no idea that it was called that across the pond.

Learn something new everyday!

:smartass:

Back to the topic ...

Usually I snack on almonds, cashews, pecans, etc.  I also bring along protein shakes.

Little pretzel squares with peanut butter inside them. I often make bags for my friends.

Usually just a hotdog at the turn, as long as there isn't a wait......

We have honey dew, honey rock, cantaloupe and watermelon.   All similar but the taste is different in each.   In different parts of the US, they may be limited.

Ditto that........

I've never had the urge to eat on the course, except for the occasional dog or brat at the turn.   If I was drinking the night before and have yet to eat anything that morning, I might get 2 at the turn...LOL.....

I mix granola, nuts and make my own trail mix, Beef jerky, and a banana. cold is the key.

I used to take a mini picnic with me every time I played -- grapes, nuts, bananas, snack bars, and a sandwich. Now it's mostly bananas (2-3), a Clif Bar (which I don't always eat), and a sandwich (usually PB&J). If I'm visiting a "nice" course, I'll take less with me and plan to eat after the round. I can certainly carry less with me to a course where I know they have water available every 3-4 holes -- one bottle is sufficient, in that case. Plus, those courses I tend to ride, so I can't put a bagboy cooler under my walking cart.

Pork pie and scotch egg...? Wth are these things... Haha. Next you will be breaking out the blood sausage. I will have to google these.

I was eating Lenny and Larry's complete cookies and a sandwich of some sort at times. Raw almonds are good too.

Scotch egg sounds good. I don't know how I missed that on first viewing. I've periodically taken hard boiled eggs to the course with me in the past -- usually when I had an early morning tee time. I'd make them the night before and put 'em in the fridge.

Now that I think of it, I've never taken tea eggs to the course. Now I have to try that next time I make them.

Same for me. I never really ate during a round before. I've seen people bring coolers with breakfast sandwiches (homemade egg, bacon and tomato sandwiches on uncut italian bread) to the course. I don't really get it lol.

I'll take a dog or a brat at the turn, but during my round I'm snacking on beers and water. Protein, carbs and it's ice cold!

We don't see much in the way of meat pies here in the US.  I have had them in the UK and Australia, and they can be really good if fresh.  I have also walked by the same vendor who had the same pies out for a couple of days!  Those we avoided.  My favorite was the beef and onion pies at this great roadside shop near Sydney.

I will usually bring a Cliff Bar or some other snack with me.  If I am walking, I will have one on the front side and one on the back.  I also will eat peanut butter crackers and the occasional dog.  G2 Gatoraid is what I drink when it is warm enough to cause me to sweat.  I have problems with cramping in my hands and feet if I don't take in electrolytes when it is hot.
