The tension in this match is so tightly wound, I can't expect it to be sustained until a penalty shootout. Someone is going to break.

The Dutch are beginning to control possession in the second half. They believe they have the upper hand now.

I don't know. Compared to Silva this should be yellow as well.

I am glad those last vice minutes weren on their half. Better for the nervous. Seccond half was for the Dutch if you ask a Dutchman.

Both teams might play for 7-8 mins after the kick off but after that they'll shut up shop and settle penalties

That now or never billboard rings so true.

The Dutch can smell a goal, but the Argentines only need one chance on the break to change the complexion of this match.

Two teams paralysed by the fear of losing, and also a referee paralysed by the fear of making an error isn't helping. The reuslt of his paralysis though is that any 50/50 goes against the attackers

This had penalties written all over it after 25 mins, and frankly I've seen nothing to change my mind

Like ... a goal, perhaps? :-P

Argentina's been the ones playing for penalties, and they just let their best opportunity for a goal slip by.

PKs.

It's penalties.

If this was a boxing match, the Dutch would win on the judge's scorecards.
