HI All,

I've just bought a set of AP2 710's in the UK, they look real and i paid market rate for them so had no reason to suspect anything - they are lefties clubs so though id be pretty safe as there aren't many copies around, im just looking for peace of mind after reading about some of the fakes out there.

There is no serial number etched on the hosel but the clubs have a custom order number on the ferrule - outlined in red box(which is supposedly standard on a custom order in the uk)

everything else looks genuine but when i did the magnet test (admittedly a very strong magnet) it stuck to the face.

From what I hear the Magnet Test is for the sole of the club not the face. The sole is made of tungsten, so it wont stick. Watch out how powerful of magnet you get. If it is strong enough it might have enough force to stick to something past the tungsten.

Welcome to the site.  The AP2's will have a magnet stick to them on certain areas of the club.  You might want to check this site out and call to verify.

I've never heard of lefty fakes, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.  Please let us know what you find out.

Thanks for the responses guys, ive checked a bunch of the counterfeit guides and they do seem genuine, the sole thing makes sense - i think the magnet i was using is a bit too strong!

Enjoy the clubs and hope you stick around here and join in the fun.

Matt, good thing you added the smiley!

P.S. It's true, as a lefty, that's one of the advantages you have: there's almost no real money to be made in faking lefty clubs.
