Putter Wheel

Thread Starter

Some of you might have seen this at the PGA show.  I bought one and started practicing and could not believe how far away from the ball I was.  This little gem has me standing closer to the ball now with my eyes directly over the golfball.  It comes with a ball marker to simulate the putter wheel when playing.

I seem to remember reading something a while back that debunked the "you have to stand with your eyes directly over the putter" thing. I'm going to see if I can find it.

Stan Utley's The Art of Putting discusses this. Many great putters don't have their eyes directly over the ball per Utley.

I prefer the eyes to be over the inside half of the ball to four or six inches inside the ball, and slightly behind the ball as well.

This looks like a really interesting practice aid... I'm definitely going to have to look at one of these closer

See thread - 2014 PGA Merchandise Show, post #12.

mvmac had photos posted of a similar item called "The Pill", I think they have a Web Site.

Pricey little gadget for putting practice. Maybe the cost will become more realistic in a few years.
