Rory has at least 100 more majors to play in (assuming he plays the next 25 years).  I don't think it's unreasonable that he'll win 6 of those.

I guess that depends on whether you believe Rory is better than Phil.  Phil's played for 24 years and only won 5 and I think the competition is getting tougher as time goes on.

This got me to wondering:

Did you know that there are only 4 active players (under 50 years old) that have more career PGA tour wins OF ANY KIND than Tiger's 14 majors?

Phil has 42, Davis Love 20, Ernie Els 19, and Jim Furyk 16.

Similarly ... Tiger also has more regular tour wins since his last major, than every other PGA tour player (except the same 4 listed above) have in their entire careers.

It's at least five if you consider "active" players regardless of their age: http://www.pgatour.com/players/player.06567.vijay-singh.html/season

It was easy to make the cutoff at 50 because of the way wiki had it listed, but yeah, vijays up there too. ;). You could make a case for 6 and add Fred Couples too. And if you wanted to stretch it, Kenny Perry, but that's pretty much the end of the list.

I didn't know that but I'm not shocked.  I've watched enough golf over the last 10 years to have a pretty good idea that no one except the 5 or 6 you and Erik mentioned win that much.

As good as Rory had been and could be, I can't see him winning 6 more majors.  Rory is a nice kid, but unless he develops an edge, he's not mentally strong enough imo to win 6 more.

I think they'll both happen but you specifically ruled that out as a voting possibility...

I'll get back to ya.

Agreed, this is def hard because both could/should happen.

I will say this... If Tiger gets back in good health I think he has a better chance of winning 2 than Rory 6.

However, considering right now I don't even know if Tiger is going to make it to the masters....
