Must use laser rangefinder for each shot including tee shot on par 3's. Chances are the distance shown on your range finder is only good for giving u an idea on where to head off in the woods to look for the 14th ball you've jacked over there today.

The white belt.

Staff bag.

Have a dozen or so bag tags. Including your entire 2000- present USGA members tag.

Shoes. glove. belt, hat must match.

All clothing from head to toe must be of same brand.

If not using sunglasses they must be turned around to the back so people can see logo on front of hat.

Hat logo must represent either the clothing line you are wearing or what's in your bag.

Tiger and Harrington are both about 6'1...............Daly is 5'10...........why does Daly look a foot shorter?  Is JD standing in a hole?

My advice for the thread........PLEASE don't try to drive a cart across a "walkers" bridge with handrails and get the cart so hopelessly stuck tight......the course staff has to tow the cart off.  this is not good!!!   I've seen this happen in my own group...idiots.....and no, it wasn't my cart!! (it was a corp outing)

That's so bad that Daly looks photo-shopped

How about these to at least look like a real pro?

*Learn and understand the old ball flight rules very well, and when asked talk about them as if they are facts.

*Take your time on each put as if it was your last, and take a look at it from every possible angle before you actually hit it

*Walk around like the world owes you something

*Wear a hat when you play

*Keep your head steady, slide your hips, keep a flat left wrist at impact, get a consistent swing path & control your start lines better

*Use the best equipment in the world & the most expensive balls you can find

*Spend 8 - 10 hours a day working on your swing

I'll add more once I remember them

I'm not so sure I wanna look like a "real" golfer, whatever that is. Not a fan of having logos and in general, words stitched onto my clothing or equipment and being a walking billboard. White belts, indifferent. All I care about is hitting the ball good and moving along.

I'm the same way. I wear a collared shirt and don't wear any denim, because most courses have those two rules.

I like to play 18 holes in 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Not too fast and not too slow.

Try to not do anything stupid.

That's it.

The other theory is to leave the sticker on so the driver still thinks it's being "tried out", once you take the price tag off it knows it's not in the store anymore and that's want the ungrateful son of a bitch starts misbehaving.

If you want to look like a real golfer, you should:

  1. Weaken your grip**
  2. Use white or wood colored tees.  Not the rainbow bag you get at Target or Wal-Mart.
  3. Also, don't waggle the club vertically.

** Those people I see at the range with their right hand almost completely underneath the club, palm basically facing up, and thumb directly opposite the target.

I''ll add to this a modification of an earlier post...

*Dont' take 10 practice swings before hitting the ball... take 15 - 20

But, but, but how else are you supposed to get the club face to roll over the instant before impact... :hmm:;-)

Not sure how to explain it well, but picture how a pro waggles the club at setup.  Along the swing path.  Away from the ball, towards the ball, away, towards, etc, etc.  Some short, some long (Weir), some with no wrist, some with a lot (Dufner), but they all have that one thing in common.  And so do any good players I've ever seen.  Of those that do waggle, that is.  Plenty of people don't waggle at all, and that's fine too.

So if/when you ever see somebody who waggles vertically, meaning they setup, then cock their wrists so the club comes straight up a few inches/a foot/whatever towards their head, and waggle back and forth that direction, I'm calling foul or "amateur hour." :-P

Not sure if @Shindig was making a joke, but here's one vote against golf brand hats.  Why do I want to pay a company so I can be a walking advertisement for them?  If you want a baseball style hat there are plenty of comfortable single color mesh back hats that don't double as advertisements.  Though I've graduated to this

i think that by "golf-relatated skull covering" its implied that it be a "golf-ish" hat, and not some freebie cheapo hat that you got at your family reunion back in '87.
