Is it proper to have one bag for the driving range and one for the course or do you have just one bag. I need to buy a golf bag that I bring to the driving range for lessons and one to the course to play. Are they one in the same? What do most do?

One bag is the normal thing to do, just decide if you want a carry bag or a cart bag then go nuts.

Usually use NXT Extreme's or HX Hot's

My bag is something like 4 lbs (very light), and has all the space I need.

Easy to carry around at range, and walking 18 holes, but also sufficient enough to put on a cart.
in the bag:
R580XD 10.5°
Rescue Dual 19°
Titleist 755 4-PW
Vokey Black Nickel 54.10° Vokey Oil Can 60.08° Circa 62 No. 2 Charcoal Mist

you're probably looking for some versatility, all around purpose bag. Look at the Nike Pro Combo Tour bag it has a lot to offer.

Nike Sasquatch Tour Stand bag

You need to go to a store that has both bags and see which one fits your style of golf. walking, riding or combination of both.

I have 3 bags. OGIO grom bag, Ping cart bag and Mizuno Aerolite. I alway use my OGIO grom bag. It has so many useful pockets and features that the other just don't compare.

Figure out if you will walk or ride. If you think you MAY walk even once in a while, buy a carry bag. I would recommend PING. They are with out a doubt the best bags i have ever dealt with. Staps are amazing, and last forever. They can be carried on either shoulder, and using both straps is very comfortable. They are also light. Very good if you walk a lot. The club storing is also very good. Most have 5-8 dividers which is plenty. They stand nicely too. Some bags that i have seen, the stands break somehow. Cheap plastic on the bottom breaks or whatever. I have yet to see a ping bag break. They also have good pockets. If you need 10 pockets for your junk, you should leave something at home. Balls, ball marks, tees, divot repair tool, wallet, keys, and maybe a light jacket. I see people who have 4 jackets, and 50+ balls, and 3 extra towels. PING bags are IMO the best carry bags there are.

In my Ogio Ozone Bag:
TM Superquad 9.5* UST Proforce 77g Stiff
15* Sonartec SS-2.5 (Pershing stiff)
19* TM Burner (stock stiff)

I have a stand bag but found out that I hated carrying it. Bought a pull cart & the stand bag wouldn't sit correctly on the cart so I went out & picked up a cart bag.
Pulling my bag around is soooo much better than lugging the bag itself around, especially for 18 holes.

The brand of bag you get is ultimately up to you, find something you like the looks of & has enough storage for all your stuff.
