Greenbrier Courses

So I'm going to be up at the Greenbrier next week and am trying to decide if I should play golf while there (for 1 day) and if so, which course. I'm leaning towards trying to play the Greenbier Course ($100-$150) but could maybe be talked into the TPC course ($265) or The Meadows Course (<$100). Any insight from you all who have played up there would be helpful. Thanks in advance

Was up there a year or so ago.  Played the Greenbrier and the Meadows.

Both were good, but I really enjoyed the Greenbrier course a little more.  It is a little more challenging, and demands that you think about your shot before you take it.  Risk/Reward--don't try to take any shortcuts, if you miss, it will cost you.  Didn't play the TPC, as it was a little costly and I just did not think that a 20 HDCP needed to play it and pay that much money.

Hope you enjoy your trip and golf.

Thanks for the response DE. At this point I'm planning on playing the Greenbrier course unless others can convince me that it's worth paying an additional $165 to play the TPC course.

Greenbrier course is great. The TPC wasn't built when I was there.

BTW, The Greenbrier was the most expensive place I ever stayed in my life. It's a la carte to take a dump.

Thanks for the response phan.

And yea, I hear ya on the cost. I think they've gotten somewhat better about some of that stuff since Jim Justice took ownership, but obviously, it's still a really pricey place to spend time.

If that's so, I may have to look into it again. I absolutely loved the place and my wife didn't want to leave, but it set me back some.

They have the best 18 hole putting green. We had some fun competitions on it.
