I naturally hit a slight push draw. If I need to hit a shot with a bigger draw or even a fade, what's the best way of accomplishing that?
What I do now is simply change my club face alignment before I take my grip. Then, when I swing, I take my normal grip (as if the club face hadn't been manipulated) and don't change anything. I just let the club face angle take care of things. I also change my aim, of course. What I've found is the most important thing to do is not think about the club face adjustment I've made. If I think about the fact that I've opened the club face for a fade, I'm likely to try really hard to close it in fear that I'll slice the ball.
I've heard so many professionals talk about changing your grip, ball position, swing path, etc, to explain how to properly work the ball.
Is it necessary to change all those things about your swing to try to work the ball, or is what I do an ok method?
