Have a beautiful old putter.  Karsten Ping Pal from 1973.  My mom got it from a friend that played with it a year on the tour.

He was 6 foot 6.  I am 5 foot 9.  Part of my hand is off the grip and down the shaft.  How tall should this putter be, and can I just cut some off and throw on a new grip??

I do not want to use any other putter.  Lots of sentimental value.   Thanks.

"Standard" length was probably 35 or 34 inches for the putter. Yes you can cut it down, if it feels light, just add some lead tape to the sole.

That would explain things.  This one is over 37 inches.

Thanks for helping me keep the putter I love.
