I have a question, after reading a bunch on the forum I started choking down on my driver and it seems to be helping my contact a lot. My question is I have ping anser driver and a ping anser 3 wood both with the same flex(regular). The driver has a "d" and the 3 wood a "f" would it be an issue to swap the 3 wood shaft on to my driver for the shorter shaft? It would save me the time of cutting down the driver shaft and choke down doesn't exactly feel natural just yet. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm not really using the 3 wood yet either. I'm still in my first year of learning this amazing game.

I've used the shaft out of my R11 3w several times in my R9 Supertri.  It worked fine, but they were pretty close in length to begin with.  I did this because I wanted to use the x-stiff shaft in the driver so I could put some full swings on it.  I have 2 shafts for my current Titleist driver which isn't interchangable with the TM 3w.

As for just learning, I did the opposite, and started with the three wood, and then progressed to larger cc drivers in steps until I could manage the 460cc monsters.  I still prefer smaller head drivers, my 910D3 is only 445cc.

    • I do not follow amateur or Korn Ferry tour but this story might get me to pay attention. At age 15 to be as accomplished as he is makes me think we may be seeing a future star.  A story of him breaking out may help reinvigorate golf viewership. But after my priority pieces I hit a few drives and tugged them all hard left. .... Uh... oh boy.  So, I spent about a half hour trying to hit targets at the range with my driver.

    • OPPs, I guess I have been doing the drill incorrectly, just ignore this.  But as they say, mistakes are learning opportunities. Let’s hope I can learn from mine.
