Do you have to be good to use lasers? - Page 4

My laser comes today.  The igolf app does allow me to pick points to get a distance to, but I'm very suspicious of the yardages it is giving me. Lack of trust leads to cautious, uncommitted swing. It also doesn't tell me how far targets are at the range.

Congrats CarlSpackler

I sometimes use the laser to see how far away the beer cart is ... Very useful tool ...

Are these laser gadgets allowed in tournaments?

It depends on the tournament. All high school and college tournaments allow distance measuring devices, along with a lot of amateur tournaments. They only really start disallowing them for professional tournaments, since they assume you should have a caddie and a pre-made yardage book for your rounds then.

That said, every tournament I've been in disallows the devices which also measure slope. They allow distance only.
