So here's the dilemma, am I better off with new bats or just get my current racquets bent 2 degrees upright? By that I mean last week I went out and had a fitting at a Nike demo day for some new cavity backs. When I first tried the clubs I didn't think they were anything special, then the guy gave me a club that was 2 degrees upright after checking with that strike tape stuff and honestly it was like night and day! The thing that excited me the most was I was actually getting pretty much every shot going right to left (is that a draw?) WITHOUT wind assistance! :) I don't think though that the club was sending the ball any further than what I'm getting with my beginner Wilson package set that's just over a year old? So the question is would I get any benefit out of just getting my existing clubs fitted "correctly" or should I bite the bullet and drop £400 on a new set? Regards Mailman

Always go with the "buying new clubs" option. You're doing your bit for the global economy.

The main thing is if your current clubs can be bent. Usually, the SGI type can't be bent because they use hard steel. If they can be bent it only costs $20-$30 maybe £20 in UK? One thing I should note is that more upright tends to put a draw bias, and might not be what you want as you improve your swing.

I would say that you should at least see if your current set can be bent and for how much. If they can and it only costs £20 then it seems silly not to at least try that option. If that 2degs make a good difference on your current clubs then play them for a bit but by all means then upgrade if you still fancy the nikes. But if it were me i would try the sake of £20 try playing your current set bent 2*.

Would be interesting if you can tell the difference on your current clubs if bent. Look forward to hearing the outcome :-)
