I was just curious if this happens to anyone else. I practice at the range in between rounds about 5 or 6 times a week, then usually a round on the weekends. At least once a week though, I have this random terrible day at the range where I'm struggling to make solid contact and decent shots. I would say that at least 2 or 3 out of 5 shots are horrible. This has been happening for about 6 months now.

I feel like I'm making progress and that my ball striking is getting better and better and then WHAM, out of no where, I get this random crappy day at the range. Well, it's not so random any more. Following the crappy day, things always return to normal and I start to make progress again.

My rounds on the weekend always reflect my hard work at the range but sometimes  I have a bad round because it is golf. I'm far from an amazing player but I'm much, much better then I was this time last year.

Anyways, I was just curious if anyone has this happen to them as well. Maybe I'm practicing too much and I'm getting tired during the week which introduces bad habits. Who knows it almost feels like one step forward and two steps back, but it's not because things always return to normal and then I start to make progress again. Weird.

Yes my friend, yes. In fact, it's quite devastating for me. Of course it happens on the course often for me. I hit about 100 balls on the range, 75% good strikes. I then went to walk a nice "relaxing" 9 holes. Disaster. Sliced my 3W off the tee (rare)...made par. Sliced 3W off next tee made bogey. 3W off the tee....sliced...then duck hooked with a chunk my 2nd...DB. Par three came...158yds...pushed an 8i but nice pitch and saved par. Par 5....sliced driver. Caught up with a miserably slow 4some..waiting on a slower 5some... Walked off. Not mad or pouting, just frustrated and tired. I feel your pain buddy.

Yes, it happens.  Feels like I completely forget how to play golf.  The next day is fine though.  I guess that's just golf.  I just hate when that happens on the course.
