It is unclear who you are directing your comment to.  If you use the quote function, it would be easier.

He is obviously directing his comment to Mr. TigerGoat.

To the OP, gambling has always been part of golf. It has nothing to do with suggestions of the illegal activity of insider trading which, BTW, is still speculation at this point with regard to Phil.

Thanks.  Sometimes the poster just above your post may assume it was directed at them.  You can also use the "@" function to pull up the name of the person.  Example, @uscfan will send a notification that you have been mentioned in the post.  It is a feature that Erik, @iacas added last year.

Sorry for the off topic.

This entire thread is ridiculous. Phil is great for golf, and he will face ZERO charges in the current investigation for insider trading. ZERO.

Also, to the OP and solely due to your screen name, Jack is the GOAT.

Even as someone who doesn't like Phil at all, i can agree that he's good for golf. I do think it's a bit early to guarantee he will have zero charges, though.

As a fellow lefty golfer and father to a lefty golfer, I was going to write something in support of Phil. You two beat me to it.

Many wealthy people have other people manage their portfolios, and those managing them aren't always aware of what's inside and not. I'm not excusing this behavior, but it is not always the way it sounds. Martha Stewart lied about it to cover the person working for her, and she paid the penalty with jail time.

I think Phil is a very straight and honest person, I doubt he would lie. If he was prone to lie he wouldn't have had to hit his balls out of so many weird lies.

Martha was tipped off ( inside trading) that her stock Imclone was going to tank, she sold it just days ahead of discouraging news from the FDA. This news was not public and was only known by founder Sam Waskal at the time.  She did not go to jail to save her rookie accountant/broker. There is no sugar coating to her actions, She lied and covered up and obstructed the investigation and thought she could get away with lying to feds about this episode of greed and disception.

In 2001, Martha Stewart, sold $228,000 worth of ImClone biotech stock the day after her friend and founder of ImClone, Sam Waksal, sold his shares and told his family to sell out too based on insider information. In '04, Stewart was found guilty of conspiracy, obstruction of an agency proceeding, and making false statements to federal investigators.

Phil on the other hand appears to be exonerated from the news and any investigation.

Phil is a professional golfer. On top of the fact that I think he is a decent person who cares more about his reputation than a few dollars, lying would end his career.
