clubs for beginners

Hello I need help. I am investing in new clubs from my old thrift store clubs. I am interested in a complete set for beginners. Can anyone give advice on whether I should buy the top flite Xl complete set for 199 or the power Bilt pro power complete set for 160

Just a thought but why not go for the cheaper set and use the monetary difference on a lesson to get you going? If there's still some cash left then buy some balls or a towel etc.

Maybe check on global golf. You might be able to find a used driver, 3 w, and iron set for around $200. Would be a few years old, but should be better quality.

Makes sense to get as much for your cash at the moment.  I wouldn't imagine you would want to spend your whole budget on the clubs if you are just starting out. I'd recommend as you've suggested to make sure you can get enough as possible with the budget.
