Not really anybody going to super low today. Leader is -5 with Ricky Barnes one back. Tiger is T109 or something like that and Even Par is T30. Also, top 4 players not eligible(In the top 12) secure spots to the British Open

Whoa! Didn't realize this...

"Patrick Reed's 68 today is his lowest @PGATOUR score since making the infamous "top five" comment."

It kind of make sense that the problem would be the short game.

While it is true that right after the surgery he could putt and chip, as I understand it he has only been able to work on the full swing for the last month or so.  Since he has had such a short period to work on it I'm betting that his practice time swung heavily towards working on the long game and, as a consequence, shortchange the time spent on the short game over the last month.

Anther possible explanation is that he was doing his practicing on Bermuda green-side rough and this course has Rye grass.  He talked about that in his pre-event presser.

The interesting thing will be to see if the short game comes back tomorrow in time to make the cut.

This is really not the leaderboard the media and golf fans were looking for...what a snooze fest. I can't remember a leaderboard I've ever had to search this hard to find someone I care about.

I wouldn't call it a snooze fest at all. And "Golf Fans" realize there may be a small lull between Majors. Marquee guys take certain weeks off all the time. If golf is on the tube Im watching especially on Sunday.

I consider myself a true 'golf fan' and watch every week regardless of whether the likes of Tiger/Phil, etc. are in the mix, but with the hype going into this event with Tiger's return, it's dissapointing to see such a sub-par leaderboard. With the exception of Sneds at -1, I have a hard time caring or routing for a single other guy under par right now.

I get what you're saying and I wasnt questioning your golf fanhood at all. I dont know who to root for at this point either. Erik Compton for me would be an easy choice. Ricky Barnes only because I belive he's from my neck of the woods. Or maybe I'll just spend my energy rooting against Patrick Mr Top 5 Reed LOL.

Seriously, I think we need to give Tigs a little more credit. Even if he misses the cut, how many other guys are playing after just three months out of back surgery? I'm watching replays of his round and the Dude does not look like someone recovering from surgery.

I'm with you on that- Compton is easy to root for and Reed is almost equally as easy to root against

Lol, I think Reed has paid his dues. It's time for the gods to throw him a bone. On the other hand, I'm calling 68 for Tiger today. (Fingers crossed)

Just kind of a fashion sidebar.....I wish Tiger would do away with the goatee. Some people look good in goatees, and then there's others that don't. Tiger's one of those that don't.

When I see Tiger playing like this, I suspect it's Mirror Tiger and not Tiger Prime. I want Tiger Prime back.

I'm ok with his play, he needs to putt better for sure, but he seems to be striking the ball well for the most part

Hey, as long as he's not sporting any of those World Cup I don't know what you call them, that's a good thing.
