Wonder if Peter Alliss is prepared to repeat on the American networks what he said on the BBC about half an hour ago! (I somehow think not)

Sounds intriguing.

For the benefit of an expat watching ESPN not the BBC, please do tell (or provide a summary of some sort.....)

Oh man, Fowler just got to -10.

Mark James - "We don't seem to have heard so many "In the holes" this week. Thankfully"

Peter Alliss - "We're a bit more civilised on this side of the Atlantic"

I'm looking at this leaderboard; Scott Van Pelt just said Charl Schwartzel is the lowest-ranked player in the top seven, at 26th in the world.

I thought this course could give is the first out-of-left-field major winner in several years, but that's definitely not the case.

Surpised they aren't struggling all that much today with the weather. Any reason they started off so early? Top pairing was already through 5 by 7:30PM EST. Majors this year the leaders haven't typically teed off until 2:30PM EST

Seems like the guys are starting to struggle a bit. Clubs are digging. Lots of errant drives and ball is not carry on those greens.

Thunder forecasts later in the day worried the R&A I think.

There's a risk of lightning, so they've telescoped the times -- off the first and tenth tees so that if there's a delay they'll still be able to get the full day's play in. First time it's ever been done at the Open.

Kinda bitter. I woke up at 7 and was like "oh hell yeah gonna have a long day of watching a full round of the leaders" and I turn it on and DJ is putting on 5. WTF

A ton of bogies on #7 by most on the first page of the leaderboard.

Rory's par putt was about as good as a birdie against his closest competitors.

I don't know what hole is playing the toughest today but #7 has to be up there among the most difficult.

Yea, I woke up at 6, turned on the TV to see if they were covering it yet and was shocked to see Rory being announced on the 1st tee.

Even McIlroy's goddamned hooks are still in good position.

You mean that I agreed with Shorty?  Or that I disagreed about Rory?
Doesn't matter, struck me wrong, didn't need to mention it.
