OK, I just made an impulse buy on ebay for a real good deal on a 54 and 58 SM5 vokey.

I normally use stiff shafts and haven't been fitted in years. Anything outside 100 yards I

use my gap wedge AP1 so most shots with my 54 and 58 will be softer swings, bunker

shots, and chips.

The wedges have regular flex and have been cut 1 1/2" short. I'm 5ft 9in and wasn't fit

for my SM4 wedges.

Will the shorter wedges and regular flex likely have a detrimental effect to my control and accuracy??

Thanks!

Well it really depends on your feel . I'm 5-8 and I choke down on my wedges I get much more control and much better impact as with wedges distance doesn't matter so the only thing you are looking for is control and I get much better control when choking down on my wedges.so i guess the shorter clubs may give you much more control than before

Wedges cut 1 1/2' short - unless trimmed at factory - will lose about 9 swingweight points from standard.

Most clubsmiths won't extend metal shaft more than 1" (otherwise, you create shear point on shaft).

You'll just have to try out the Vokeys and see if you like them. A reshaft might help you out.

I'm not trying to talk down on you, but this is another reason to avoid buying golf clubs off of eBay: you don't get to test them first.

Focus, connect and follow through!

Did the ebay seller have in the description that they were cut 1 1/2" on the shafts? If the seller didn't specify this, then you have a case for a refund based on the product doesn't match the description.

Then open an ebay case and send the clubs back. Ebay sides with buyers, so you should be fine.
