Unhit Hogans for $ 100 ??

A friend retired and decided to take up golf.  He went into the store and ask for the best set of irons in the store and the best driver they had.  He spent about $900.  Then he decided he could not take up the game.  The clubs sat.  Never been on a course, and never even saw the range.

The clubs are Hogans with deep cavity backs.  Probably some of the last.  The driver is a gorgeous, milled faced, Goldwin.

He wants one hundred dollars.  Do you guys think these are worth it??   I am currently playing three year old Calloway Razr.  Sell Razrs and hit Hogans?  Resell Hogans for same price to a friend that needs clubs and keep hitting Razrs?  Or forget I ever saw these beautiful clubs.

Buy them for $100, and then sell them for $300?  Check with Golfsmith or even EBay and see what the set is worth. At $100 you should be able to resell them for a profit if you so desired. If not they are a good set of clubs if you wanted to use them to golf with.

The driver is worth virtually nothing and the irons are probably worth what you would be paying.

Not quite sure why you would want them. Your Call a way irons are most likely better.

You may be able to sell them for more on ebay, but is that a good look? Maybe he should do that.

I know you can get more than 100 clams on ebay for the irons. I don't know that they would be better than your razrs. Try them out, if you don't like them sell em on ebay or to your friend. I sold a set for $140 on ebay. What shafts do they have? Post a pic.

Cannot pic.  Guy still has them.  Steel shaft.  He will be around tomorrow to see if I want them.  I may take a day or two to decide. If he seems in a hurry, I am going to pass.  My other buddy does need some decent clubs tho.  The Hogans would be way ahead of his game and might help him improve.  He currently plays with hand me down Walmarts that have no grooves left.  Poor guy.

I have seen the Hogans tho, and they are pristine.  New, out of box.  I really don't need them, but sometimes it is hard to pass up brand new clubs for a good price.  Golf can be a form of mental illness at times.  I should probably seek professional help.

That is kinda what I meant.  He has not played much and is still learning.  Expensive clubs are not anything he can undertake at this time and he does not understand the differences in clubs much.  This would be a way of obtaining good clubs that could stay in his arsenal for many years to come before he outgrew them.

never turn down a set of name brand irons in new condition for that matter for just 100 bucks.

Are they Apex Plus irons? Edge Pro?

I did not see the guy today.  I'll find out exactly what they are possibly tomorrow.  If my buddy does not want them, then sure, you can buy them from me if you want.   I'll have someone take pics and let you look at them first.  Sorry I'm not exact on which ones they are.  I only saw them for a moment cause I was at work at the time and only had one free moment.

I'm interested to know what they are, and, depending on what they are, I might be *very* interested.

Have not seen my buddy for a few days.  City qualifying going on here for the next week.  He is probably out at the course all the time.  When I get a second look at the clubs I will post the particulars.  From what I saw they were awesome.
