Tiger. As Jamo said earlier, McIlroy is streaky, he could miss the cut at Augusta for the next three years and I wouldn't be shocked.

Good question.

Rory's won 3 out of 14 majors and was T-8 at the Masters this year. Augusta does fit his game and ball flight. I'm going with Rory.

That's a good question. If you'd asked me on Thursday night, I would have said Tiger. If you ask me in two weeks, I might say Tiger. Today, three hours after Rory won, it's tough not to go with McIlroy.
Tiger. As Jamo said earlier, McIlroy is streaky, he could miss the cut at Augusta for the next three years and I wouldn't be shocked.
I think that was @iacas but I'd gladly take credit. :-D

I went with Rory but it's a helluva tough call. Tiger has 4x the opportunities (if he stays healthy) but Rory's game is made for Augusta. I'm already second guessing my pick.

I'm going with Rory. He's been close at Augusta before and has shown he can win majors.

If Tiger stays healthy, he can of course come out roaring next year, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Very tough call! I'm sure both will happen, but which first!!! I'd like to think mcilroy will! But opportunity wise, tiger has the advantage at 4 to 1, and if tiger has an advantage, you couldn't bet against him! So tiger! However, I reckon mcilroy will eventually be the highest earner in golf! Surpassing tiger, It's a bold statement, but with youth, ability, and nike on his side, plus likeability, something which tiger lacks, the future seems very bright for Rory!

I voted for Tiger. He's got the numbers on his side. Since his last major victory, he's had 9 top 10 finishes out of 19 events played, including 2 last year. In that same span, Rory has played in 6 Masters, with 1 top 10 finish. There are 4 opportunities a year for Tiger vs 1 for Rory. The PGA Championship is coming up, which means Tiger has a chance to win this contest before Rory even gets to tee the ball at Augusta.

That is a great debatable question. Off hand, I would have to say Woods would win his 15th major. Then again, what if part of his problem at the Open was a physical  problem? What if his back issue does not allow him to play "Tiger Golf" for another year or so?

On the other hand, what's to keep Mcllroy from winning the up coming PGAC, which would give him an even greater drive for winning his missing green jacket next year?

My guess is that Woods is not in tournament golf shape yet, and won't be for a few more months. I am assuming he left the tournament with no new, or lingering injuries. For 18 holes he was in good shape. The following 54 holes he played were riddled with mistakes that I think were brought on by fatigue. Both mental, and physical.

Although I think Mcllroy will eventually win his own grand slam, if he does not win the next Masters, Woods has the better chance at his 15th major. If Woods plays 8 more years, he has 32 chances at a major, where Mcllroy is looking at only 8 Masters during the same period of time. Lots of plausible arguments for both players in this debate, but the percentages favor Woods.

I will go with Rory and think he will win the Masters next year or the year after.   He's got a ton of talent and that high ball flight, great putter,, and he is gaining experience and he knows he is quite capable of winning the Masters.   He can be streaky and that could be a problem, but I will go with Rory.  If he is on, he could run away with the Masters.  He needs to get more consistent and that might improve as he gains more experience and confidence.   I think Tiger may have some more majors in him, but they are probably not going to come as easy for him like they did before.  Tiger's physical problems are a concern too.

Rory's Dad put down a few pounds on Rory over Tiger for this bet. ;-) I'll take Tiger though due to the number of chances.

At this point, it's looking like John Daly is just as likely to win another major as Tiger is...

I don't think Tiger will win another major , so I'm going with Rory.

I'm the unofficial president of the TST ABTG (Anyone But Tiger Group), but I'll take that bet for as much as you want to lay down..... ...I'd be happy to pay though. ;-)

I say Rory. I think he will do it right off the bat next year. As soon as he holed out on 18 yesterday, that became all he is thinking about. I don't think Tiger will get to 15th until his career is on the wain. I believe it will come in one last hurrah like Jack in 1986.

Pretty sure he's still thinking about the PGA this year… :D

And $10M for the FedExCup would be nice too…

    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
    • Day 96 (18 Mar 24) - Continued work with the Divot Board with the GW and hard foam balls.  Focused on small target/small miss…setup to hit target about 30yds out - success if it hit within 6’ circle of target, fail if outside.  Had decent success averaging about 3 out of 4 (hitting in groups of four).

    • I'm relieved someone finally defined hiking. I was giddy when I saw these new TPI videos a day or so after they dropped. Very easy to understand the problem and solution the way they have presented it. Been working on fixing this for about a year and a half now. It's nice to be able to call it something so communication becomes easy.  I was working on more lateral and up too, but just having someone define it clearly in video form was so helpful for me to continue confidently with what I thought was wrong and how I had to fix it.  My conceptual error here was just trying to rotate like a tour pro but without including the necessary forward pressure/weight shift associated with enough lateral and upward motion of the pelvis.  This video is great too, as is Greg Rose.
