Upgrade in irons

Thread Starter

I currently play with Callaway xhot irons and they are good, but my dad is starting to get back into the game and is going to take them and I will be upgrading. This post is for suggestions on clubs to try that are still a little forgiving but a upgrade from a GI iron like the shot. My average score is around 90.

I would look at the X2 Hot Pro irons, PING i25, and TaylorMade SLDR irons

With all due respect, if your average score is around 90, in my non-professional and humble opinion, your game really isn't at the point where it has "outgrown" game improvement type clubs.    If you like Callaway, perhaps you should look at the Apex irons for an upgrade that still is pretty forgiving.  I like my Titleist AP1s a lot.  Why make it harder on yourself than it needs to be?

Keep your irons. Buy your day a new set for his birthday.

He would appreciate it.
