Sergio Garcia is on fire

Something has lit a fire under El Niño. After stellar play and a 2nd place finish in the Open, he just shot one of the best rounds today I've ever seen.

He birdied 8 out of 9 holes and shot 27 on the back nine.. Including a birdie on 667 yard #16! Finished with a career low 61! Wow

He may just have what it takes to finally capture that elusive major. and the irony of it all, the PGA is at Valhalla!

His ballstriking has always been solid, but suddenly he's found his stroke on the greens. I wish the guy well

believe it or not I was saying to my self that he might birdie out the way he was striking his irons on the flags.12 and 13 I think were the close ones when I thought that but then he was only getting to within 15 feet or so but his putter was on lighting it up.

Even Mickelson looked on in awe watching Sergio drop 7 straight birdies coming in. Absolutely amazing..

He's getting hot the way Stenson did last year. Hopefully he can maintain the momentum.

I hope so. I picked him to win the PGA next week! If not for Rory's insane playing at the Open, Sergio would have won.

Sergio has already birdied three more today on the front and now just birdied again on 11 with zero bogies... This is what you call, "in the zone" im very impressed so far..

His odds next week are 25-1.......might want to jump on that before they goes down (which they will).

Looks like it's going to be the same guys fighting for this WGC as the Open. Sergio and Rory will be in the final group. I hope it's exciting..

Like I said, there go the odds. In the matter of hours, Sergio went from 25-1 next week to 12-1.
