Will Tiger make it to Valhalla? Will new world #1 Rory McIlroy get the hat trick and win 3 tournaments in a row?

"Glory's last shot" will feature the strongest field of the year at the revamped Valhalla Golf Club, where Tiger won in 2000 in a playoff against Bob May. The PGA Championship may end up being the perfect climax to what has been an exciting year on the tour.

Tiger will make it to Valhalla, he may or may not have to work in the public relations booth, however. The field is all set with new additions Geogilvy and Jerry Kelly. Hothead Perez is the first alternate. I'm rooting hard for entertainment. The field is insane with 99 of the top 100 players in the world.(Thanks Cocaine). I have picked Jim Furyk all year and am not about to stop! I also made an ill-advised 50 dollar bet that John Daly will make the cut... Exciting year on tour? You drunk?

Looking forward to it a lot. McIlory is extremely impressive lately. Am also curious if Mickelson found his form back (yesterday he was good..), and ofcourse the last chance for Joost Luiten (sorry if I mention him too often) to qualify for the Ryder Cup. I guess he pretty much needs to win for that, and since that is not going to happen I will have to wait at least 2 more years to see the first Dutchman ever in the Ryder Cup I'm afraid.

I think the winner will come from one of the players who finished in the top-10 last week. The last 3 years, players who played well at the Bridgestone won the PGA.

Some pretty goods out there on a few guys. Fowler at 22/1 isn't a bad play. As much as I hate to say it, Reed at 80/1 has my attention. Would love to take Rory, but 5/1 is too low for my blood. And already put a few bucks on Sergio last week when he was 25/1. He's been bet down to 14/1.

Tiger will be there, probably not healthy but he'll tee-it-up

Do you have some inside information from his PT? If not, I'd have to ask why he would be so stupid as to do that. He has plenty of history with regard to returning too early from injury. If he wants to continue playing into his 40s I'd say he'd be well advised to focus on rehab until next season.

The more I practise, the luckier I hope to get.

I'm on this page.  I think if it was just 'spasms', then he'd tough out some of these rounds.  It's likely much more than that.  This last tourny was him being optimistic and then getting blindsided by his own body.  Best guess - he sits it out and takes the rest of the year off.

I didnt think I had to begin my post with "In My Humble Opinion" but I guess I should've. This is Tiger Woods we're talking about here and this is a Major Championship. I BELIEVE he will do everything in his power to tee-it-up this week.

Rory... doubtful, but not impossible. Not hating on him at all. It would be HUGE if he wins. I would actually like to see that.

Tiger... At this point, he needs to weight the longevity of his career over winning this tournament. Depending on how bad he tweaked his back (looked pretty bad), I would suggest that he sit it out and recover and set his sights on The Masters. Did I mention that I have a practice round ticket for that?

If conditions are soft, I have a hard time seeing anyone beating Rory. He is crucifying soft layouts. If conditions are fast, he could have a tougher time. It will force him to play a different style game than he did at hoy lake and firestone.

My bet is that Tiger won't play. Even if his back feels a bit better, he must know he essentially has no chance to really compete considering his rusty driver and putter. He'll hang it up for the season and announce that he'll be ready again in the spring.

Rory is a possibility - looking completely in control. Sergio is also playing some of the best golf he has in years. Perhaps a repeat of this week's showdown?

Rory has been streaky through his career. It'll be interesting to see if he can keep up the performance on a regular basis.

Yeah but the last time he was this streaky was right before he switched over to Nike and he had something like 11 top-5 finishes in 12 events. So when he's streaking in the right direction, he tends to stay there for awhile.

Yeah,Rory winning would be a piece of history.I think he will be in the top 10.As for the winner, golf is always quite hard to predict.Purely based on feeling,my bet is on Schwartzel,Fowler or McIllroy.

If it's not Rory, and I can't believe I'm actually saying this but here goes...I hope it's Sergio. There, I said it, and it feels good. Can you imagine what that would do for Sergio's psyche? Can you imagine the look of pure joy that will be on his face as he sinks that last putt on 18 to finally claim his first Major.

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
